Operations Assistant

Job Introduction

  • Operations Assistant
  • 24 hours per week- with flexibility to increase to cover holidays 
  • Monday- Wednesday 8.30am-5pm
  • £9.51 per hour (£11,913.41 per annum) rising to £9.92 per hour (£12,423.41 per annum) after successful completion of our transition period.

We have a great opportunity for an efficient and enthusiastic person to join our busy Operations Team at our Head Office in Lytham St Annes to support them with the important work they do in managing our incoming deliveries. This is an active and physical role; requiring you to be on your feet for long periods, some heavy lifting and operating various machinery.

Role Responsibility

  • Unloading/loading deliveries
  • Following set guidelines to ensure accurate recording of incoming post deliveries
  • All aspects of post sorting and delivering to relevant department/area
  • Following up and chasing of any missing parcels or discrepancies
  • Communicating with our store and office colleagues and supporting with the internal post system
  • The use of recycling machinery
  • General maintenance of the shredder and company car
  • Monthly postal cost analysis
  • General housekeeping

All applicable training will be provided as part of the role.

Essential skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Can demonstrate ability to prioritise workload in order to achieve deadlines
  • Works well individually and within a team 
  • Ability to undertake work of a physical nature
  • Can-do attitude and self-motivated

Desirable skills

  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of working in a busy environment
