Job Introduction

Job Title: Part-Time Picking Assistant (Replenishment) 

Contract:  October until 31st December 2021

Hours: 11 hours per week. The working days will be Monday and 1 other day of the week. Please see job description for further detail on shift patterns and working hours. 

Location: Lytham St Annes

We now have a fantastic opportunity for punctual and self-motivated individuals to join our busy Replenishment department during their peak Christmas period. Our Replenishment department oversees the stock deliveries to our branches and as a Picking Assistant you will be a valuable addition to their well-established team, who strive to provide an efficient and accurate service. With a keen eye for detail and a self-starting attitude, the successful candidates will support the team in picking and packing our products, ready to send out to store. Please note that this role will require long periods of time spent on your feet.

The start time for all shifts will be 8:30am and there is flexibility required around finish time, which is usually around 2pm however could be later on a Monday, when the finishing time will be no later than 5pm.

During the busiest periods, including the run up to Christmas (in November and December), there will be a need for flexibility as you will be required to increase your hours (by roughly an extra day a week) and work some weekends. Weekend working in November and December will start at 7:30am and the start times for Christmas Eve and December 29th will be 6am.

Role Responsibility

The role will predominantly involve;

  • Picking items from our warehouse using our handheld terminals, quickly and accurately
  • Following packing guidelines
  • Manual handling and lifting of boxes from shelving
  • Limited computer work

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of and passion for, delivering excellent customer service
  • Transferable skills and experience from similar fast paced, target driven environments
  • Good rapport building skills and the ability to be adaptable
  • Punctual, enthusiastic and able to work at a fast pace
  • Works well both in a team, along with independently as well
  • Self-motivated, highly organised and hardworking
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Proactive, with a ‘take action’ mindset

Whilst this role would be great for candidates for have previous experience as Warehouse Operatives/ Order Pickers/ Pickers/ Pickers and Packers, we're open to candidates who have no previous experience but have the relevant skills listed above, as all applicable training will be provided as part of the role.
