Part-Time Project Manager - Blackpool & Fylde Coast (16-20 hours per week)

Job Introduction

Beaverbrooks are proud to announce that we are working with Business in the Community (BITC) in an exciting project to help regenerate the Blackpool and the Fylde Coast area. This project is known as the Blackpool Pride of Place partnership and is a group of people from the business, voluntary and public sectors who have come together to promote economic development and tackle the area’s challenges.

A key part of this project is creating a Responsible Business Network – a unique network of local businesses working together to benefit society, the economy and the environment. With this in mind, we are working with BITC to recruit a Project Manager to establish and manage this network of companies. This is a part-time position at 16-20 hours per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone enthusiastic and organised, with a passion for helping the local community, to really make a difference to the local area.

Given our support to the project, the successful candidate will be recruited and hired as a Beaverbrooks employee but will work under the guidance of BITC at their Blackpool office.

Role Responsibility

The role will predominantly involve the following:

  • Establishing and managing the Responsible Business Network (RBN)
  • Liaising between key stakeholders such as the Board, steering group, and RBN
  • Approaching local Businesses to join the RBN and establishing relationships
  • Managing membership of the RBN and providing the link to the Business in the Community
  • Organising, coordinating and supporting RBN business resource into identified initiatives such as:
    • Supporting schools through Opportunity Area and Careers & Enterprise
    • Careers Fairs
    • Other Voluntary Sector Initiatives
  • Sourcing venues for meetings from our member organisations
  • Updating Salesforce with progress.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with various stakeholders at different levels and across different sectors (e.g. public sector, private sector, voluntary)
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision
  • Organised and able to prioritise activities and manage own time efficiently.

Please note: we reserve the right to close vacancies early in light of a large response.

About the Company

Beaverbrooks the Jewellers are an award winning, family-owned business. Our passion for Jewellery is matched by our passion for people. Integrity, enthusiasm and caring underline everything we do. It also happens to be just one of the reasons we have been a Sunday Times Top 100 Company for the past 14 years and have also won Retail Employer of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards several times in recent years.

The Blackpool Pride of Place Partnership

The focus of the project is on Blackpool itself as it is the place with most national brand recognition and the greatest concentration of challenges. However, the aim is for the project to have a halo effect along the Fylde coast and for the whole area to feel involved and benefit.

Over a five-year period, the Partnership intends to address complex challenges, using in-depth analysis and developing and testing solutions which have a significant impact. After a ten-year period, it is hoped that Blackpool and the Fylde coast will be known as a place which is definitely “on the up”.

The Partnership has been created under the umbrella of BITC which encourages responsible business and will provide support for specific programmes as well as national influence with government and business. The Partnership does not have substantial resources directly at its disposal but seeks to encourage, align and attract spending and activity in the area to its long-term benefit by the participation of people with influence and passion and a common aim.
