  • 39 hours per week Monday - Friday
  • Salary: £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience

Join our award winning, family owned jewellers as a Project Manager within our Property and Store Visual Image Department. This is a two year fixed contract to support the delivery of our new Beaverbrooks head office. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a real passion for delivering projects to a set critical path. It is an ideal role for an existing Project Manager or an experienced Assistant Project Manager with experience in construction, who prides themselves on excellent time management, organisational and communication skills and who is now looking to take on a large-scale office build project. 

The role will be based 5 days a week at our Lytham head office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project management of an office build; providing support to take the project from brief to full build.
  • Breaking the project into achievable actions and set timeframes to achieve main programme.
  • Liaising with architects, design agencies, and managing contractors on site.
  • Conduct site surveys and scoping visits.
  • Responsible for managing project budgets, reviewing project tender in conjunction with our partnering QS.
  • Supporting with on-going value engineering activities to help drive down project costs.
  • Playing a key role in negotiations with supply base.
  • Lead in ensuring the project meets building regulations and passes planning requirements with the support of our architect.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Analysing risks and opportunities.
  • Work alongside our Lead Project Manager on the project to manage progress and handle any issues that arise.
  • Acting as the point of contact for projects and communicating project status to all participants.
  • Supporting the team with the procurement of all assets for projects.
  • Using programs to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures.
  • Issuing all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement).

The Ideal Candidate  

ESSENTIAL SKILLS 

  • Proven passion for project management and project delivery in construction.
  • Previous experience on an office build project.
  • Formal qualification in building surveying or construction.
  • Evidence of completing projects over £2 million.
  • Excellent project management skills to ensure efficient and timely delivery of all projects.
  • Previous experience of managing large project budgets.
  • Thorough understanding / proven application of current building regulations, CDM regulations & local authority planning principals.
  • Previous experience of working with both external suppliers and creative designers.
  • Previous experience of stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator - the ability to nurture strong relationships internally and externally is key.
  • A competent problem solver who makes things happen.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and One Note.
  • Fantastic team player.

DESIRABLE SKILLS 

  • Previous experience of working with project management programs such as Microsoft planner, Adobe, Sketch-up, CAD.
  • Previous knowledge of BREEAM.
  • H&S trained, preferably IOSH qualification.
