Job Introduction

  • 39 hours per week Monday – Friday 
  • Two-year fixed contract  
  • Hybrid working to be discussed at interview  
  • Circa £45,000 per annum

 

Join our award winning, family owned jewellers as a Project Manager within our Property and Store Visual Image Department. This is a two year fixed contract to support the delivery of our new Beaverbrooks head office.  

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a real passion for delivering projects to a set critical path. It is an ideal role for an existing Project Manager or an experienced Assistant Project Manager with experience in construction, who prides themselves on excellent time management, organisational and communication skills and who is now looking to support our lead PM on a large-scale office build project.  

 

Main Responsibilities 


  • Supporting the lead project management; providing support to take the project from brief to full build and breaking the project into achievable actions. 
  • Liaising with architects, design agencies, and managing contractors on site and ensure project meets building regulations/planning requirements. 
  • Assist with site surveys and scoping visits where needed.  
  • Support with managing project budget, reviewing project tender in conjunction with our partnering QS. 
  • Playing a key role in negotiations with supply base. 
  • Supporting our Lead Project Manager to analyse risks and opportunities and deal with any issues that arise. 
  • Supporting the team with the procurement of all assets for projects. 
  • Using programs to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures. 
  • Issuing all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement) 
  • This role will solely be concentrating on one project for the duration of the contract.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS  

  • Proven passion for project management and project delivery in construction. 
  • Previous experience on a large-scale build over £2 million. 
  • Thorough understanding of current building regulations, CDM regulations & local authority planning principals. 
  • Previous experience of working with external suppliers and creative designers. 
  • Previous experience of stakeholder management. 
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator - the ability to nurture strong relationships internally and externally is key. 
  • A competent problem solver who makes things happen with attention to detail. 
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and One Note. 

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS  

  • Previous experience of working with project management programs such as Microsoft planner, Adobe, Sketch-up, CAD. 
  • Previous knowledge of BREEAM. 
  • H&S trained, preferably IOSH qualification. 
  • Formal qualification in building surveying or construction.
