Salary: £22,000-£24,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)

We now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and proactive Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our busy Finance team at our Head Office in Lytham St Annes. This is a great role for someone who enjoys processing high volumes of invoices and can confidently complete statement reconciliations, to ensure invoices are paid within payment terms.
In addition, as Beaverbrooks Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will also play an exciting role in developing, testing and supporting with the rollout of a new automated invoice processing solution.

Role Responsibility
As the Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will report into our Finance Manager and will be involved with the following:
- Accurately processing a high volume of invoices onto our finance system (approx. 1200 per week)
- General ledger invoice coding and postings
- Liaising with stores and office departments to ensure all invoices are authorised for payment
- Following up VAT invoices which have been paid on a pro-forma basis
- Numbering and manually filing processed invoices
- Performing supplier statement reconciliations and resolution of issues
- Being proactive and instrumental in developing and testing the new invoice automation system currently being developed across the business
- Supporting the roll out of the new invoice automation system across the business including assisting in creating training documentation and presenting the training
- Being the main point of contact once the new invoice automation system is implemented
- Assisting in monitoring the Finance emails and carrying out actions as necessary to clear the inbox.
- General ad hoc duties to support the Finance department
The Ideal Candidate
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and meet objectives, working independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable using Excel
- Previous experience of processing high volumes of invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Experience of performing statement reconciliations and independently resolving all issues
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to work as a supportive part of a small team with a flexible and personable approach
- Ability to build good working relationships
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the confidence to reach out to suppliers and internal colleagues to resolve issues.
- Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous involvement in the integration of a new business wide finance system
- Previous experience with Vlookups and pivot tables
