Job Introduction

  • eCommerce Junior Digital Web Designer 
  • Permanent, 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday
  • Lytham St Anne's, Lancashire - This role will include some days working at head office each week.
  • Salary £23,000 - £25,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonus and benefits.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for digital and a desire to further their creative career within the fast-paced world of eCommerce. This role will work across both Beaverbrooks and our exciting new luxury brand, Loupe. 

As Junior Digital Web Designer, you will work within the eCommerce Content team, updating and editing onsite content to industry-leading standard across two websites, alongside creating and designing assets for digital channels.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working alongside other Digital Designers/Developers within the eCommerce Content team, you will be tasked with creating and editing onsite content across two websites.
  • Making CSS, HTML and JavaScript changes to the site, using the Web Content Management System to upload and edit online content.
  • Supporting with translating designs into HTML, creating inspiring content pieces onsite such as seasonal Style Edits and Gift Guides. 
  • Alongside translating existing designs into HTML, you may also be required to design new pages, so a creative eye and design knowledge will be beneficial.
  • Using your image editing skills to enhance assets and optimise them for use online. 
  • Keeping abreast of industry best practices for areas such as SEO, accessibility and mobile-first design, ensuring that these factors are considered in everything you do. 
  • Working alongside the other Digital Designers, you will be responsible for updating the website for key campaigns and trading periods such as SALE.
  • Following the website’s style guidelines, ensuring these are adhered to at all times. 
  • Working collaboratively with brands and partners to ensure landing pages and web content are up to date.
  • Supporting with reactive changes to landing pages where necessary.
  • Holding ‘customer service’ and ‘customer experience’ in the highest regard and ensure it’s a constant consideration when conducting your role.  

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Basic HTML/CSS coding skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, particularly Photoshop
  • A passion for eCommerce and content 
  • Basic understanding of SEO
  • Strong creative flair/ previous design experience 
  • Keen eye for detail 
  • Excel working towards deadlines and in a fast-paced, reactive environment 

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Experience working within an eCommerce team 
  • Experience using a web content management system 
  • A keen interest in the latest digital and social trends
  • JavaScript knowledge/experience
  • A portfolio of work
