Job Title: eCommerce Technology Assistant

Location: Lytham St.Annes

Contract: 37.5 hours per week, Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Salary: £20,000-£22,000 per annum

Interview dates: Thursday 12th March & Friday 13th March 

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to pursue a career in the technical side of eCommerce to join our growing team here at Beaverbrooks Head Office as eCommerce Technology Assistant.

You will report into the eCommerce Technology Manager, supporting a variety of technical functions, including operational tasks, site maintenance, monitoring and testing.

Role Responsibility

  • Assisting the eCommerce Technology Manager with operational tasks, such as order status checks, responding to system alerts, reviewing service dashboards.
  • Using our logging and monitoring tools to investigate issues with our website.
  • Supporting the eCommerce QA Tester on the testing of new releases to our website and supporting systems.
  • Raising bugs discovered in investigation and testing with our development team.
  • Using the eCommerce business tools to update our website configuration when required (training to be provided).
  • Assisting our Customer Service, IT, and Fulfilment teams with queries about our eCommerce systems.
  • Contributing to the creation of business requirements for new site features.
  • Supporting the eCommerce Technology Manager in the maintenance of our site monitoring and dashboards.

The Ideal Candidate

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of Web/Software Development, Computer Science or equivalent subject through education or equivalent work experience.
  • An inquiring mind and a willingness to develop technical skills related to eCommerce.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and consistency.
  • Highly organised and motivated.
  • Have a proactive and logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • The ability to work closely within a team.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Basic understanding of web development, building HTML/CSS pages and/or writing simple scripts in a language such as JavaScript/Python/Ruby etc.
  • Experience using a web content management system.
  • Experience of using an issue tracking tool, such as JIRA or Bugzilla.
  • Experience of working on projects with third-parties, e.g. external development teams or design agencies.
  • A passion for online shopping and the internet.
  • Experience of working in eCommerce is preferable but not essential.
